Notes
Brahms’ “Cradle Song: Good Evening, Good Night” is one of the most beloved lullabies around the world. It also happens to be a song our mothers sang to us during our earliest years, so we may be biased by how sweetly it conjures memories of comfort. Greg’s recomposition aims to capture the mysteries of shifting from wakefulness to dreamland as repeating patterns evoke the oscillations of a mobile over an infant’s crib. “Lay thee down now and rest, may thy slumber be blessed.”
